After all, Ghost of Tsushima Legends was extremely popular and well-made, despite being a free DLC. More interesting is the idea that the Ghost of Tsushima sequel might involve multiplayer. Of course, that’s an assumption, but it also seems like the natural progression of things. We expect less floatiness, more weight, more combat variety and more difficulty. Since the game is likely still ways away, and will be a true PS5 game, the natural strengths of the system will have an effect on the gameplay. The gameplay in the original Ghost of Tsushima was already tight, so there isn’t too much to improve here. Maybe an older Jin Sakai, who fell on tough times, took to drinking, and sells his sword to the highest bidder, only to get swept up in an adventure that triggers his sense of loyalty… am I thinking of God of War too much? Did I watch too much Yasuke? Maybe, but don’t tell me you wouldn’t play the crap out of that game. The war between China and Japan could serve as fodder for more than just one game, and the franchise might even let us explore both sides of the war.Īlternatively, a story mirrored after Miyamoto Musashi could be interesting: The band of brothers was already popular enough in Ghost of Tsushima, and letting you play as a lone vagabond would be interesting. Yes, it would be a departure from the current setting, but who’s to say that we have to continue the story of Jin Sakai? After all, the Ghost is more of a symbol than a person, and, let’s face it, as great as Ghost of Tsushima was, Jin Sakai is one of the most forgettable characters ever. Well, time to put on our writer’s hats and speculate: Will Ghost of Tsushima stay on the islands, or will it expand on the Mongol expansion? I personally think it will be none of the above, and the game should instead cover the war between China and Japan.
